The Operations Area Support and Care has approximately 310 employees working within social services, elderly care, health care, and support for people with disabilities. Our mandate is extensive and an important part of the public service we wish to provide to our residents.

Åldersro, located in Gryt, is a residence with 12 places for somatically ill patients and for dementia care.

To Åldersro, we are now looking for a new competent and engaged colleague who wants to be part of our operations. The position is a temporary substitute role.

WORK ASSIGNMENTS

We strive to contribute to the highest possible quality of life for our care recipients. We want the individuals living at Åldersro to have a meaningful everyday life. Together with your colleagues, you are an important piece of the puzzle in this work.

The work tasks involve personal care and service efforts, all based on individual implementation plans.

The work also includes being a contact person, which means that you plan support and help together with the individual.

Teamwork is a large part of the job. You will work in a team together with rehabilitation staff, nurses, and our special dementia team.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are educated as a nursing assistant (undersköterska).

You have previous experience working in a residence with a dementia focus.

Specialized education in dementia care, elderly care, or welfare technology, and experience working with BPSD (Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia) are meritorious.

You have warmth and commitment to working with the target group. You have a positive attitude and see it as your natural responsibility to contribute to a positive work climate and to promote good cooperation.

We strive to create a home-like environment as much as possible, characterized by calm and security. Therefore, it is important that you are confident in your professional role and have good self-awareness and personal maturity. You need to be able to meet each individual's needs by easily adapting to changed circumstances, remaining calm in stressful situations, and seeing opportunities instead of obstacles. We are looking for you who have good interaction skills in all situations in your profession. It is also important that you are accustomed to cooperating and taking initiative.

Aside from your burning interest in dementia care, we want you to have an interest in change and development work as this is an operation that is constantly evolving. We also want you to like challenges and think outside the box.

You are self-reliant, can take initiative, and are good at collaborating with colleagues, relatives, and other partners, both within and outside your own organization.

We want you to be able to communicate orally and in writing in Swedish, as the work involves many contact areas and documentation.

We assume that you are computer literate and preferably have experience with social documentation in the operation system Lifecare.

To be employed in the role of nursing assistant, you need to attach proof of protected professional title or a certificate from your current employer stating that you had a permanent position as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 3-6 months, start: According to agreement, end: 2026-12-31.

To be considered for the current employment in Valdemarsvik Municipality, an extract from the police record must be presented. You will need to show your extract if you are offered a position.

Depending on the current workplace's needs, it may become relevant for part of your working time to be located at another workplace within the operations area.
