The role is both strategic and operational. You lead projects, contribute expert knowledge, and drive processes from idea to finished result.

Responsibilities

The role includes:

  • being responsible for the municipality's art collection through inventory, documentation, communication, care, placement, purchase, and loan to the municipality's operations,
  • being responsible for and further developing the municipality's exhibition activities,

  • contributing to the development of cultural and creative industries in collaboration with other parts of the municipality,
  • participating in relevant networks and working groups and, when relevant, applying for external project funds.

The role is broad and varied, requiring you to enjoy switching between specialist assignments, project management, development work, qualified case processing, and practical work related to cultural activities.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • relevant higher education or university degree in fields such as art history, cultural administration, cultural heritage management, fine arts, or equivalent,

  • experience in independent administrative case processing as well as driving projects and development work within a broad range of different cultural areas,
  • very good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Personal Attributes

We are looking for someone who thrives in an independent role where you are responsible for driving issues from idea to implementation. You are structured and have a good ability to plan, prioritize, and create order in a role with many parallel processes.

You communicate clearly and adapt your message to the recipient and situation. Through a listening and professional approach, you contribute to good collaboration with colleagues and external actors, where different perspectives and competencies are valued.

You take initiative and drive the work forward by identifying opportunities and turning ideas into action. At the same time, you have good judgment and the ability to make well-considered prioritizations based on the organization's goals, quality, and available resources.

To succeed in the role, you need to be able to combine clear specialist expertise in art with an interest in working broadly with cultural development. You contribute with your specialist expertise while maintaining a holistic perspective and working for the long-term development of the organization.
