About the role

Do you want to contribute to strengthening society's ability to handle crises and, ultimately, war? Region Dalarna is now looking for a Readiness Coordinator who wants to help develop our civil preparedness and resilience in an increasingly complex global landscape.

As a Readiness Coordinator, you will work with planning, coordinating, developing, and monitoring the region's work within civil preparedness. The assignment involves developing and ensuring that Region Dalarna can handle disruptions along the entire threat scale. You are part of a team of readiness coordinators at the Security and Preparedness Department and work closely with both operations and management. You report to the Security Manager and work in close collaboration with the team leader and colleagues. The position is located at the Security and Preparedness Department.

Responsibilities

You contribute to maintaining and developing the region's overall preparedness capability by:

• contributing to the fulfillment of the region's goals and legal compliance
• participating in the development and creation of preparedness plans and other governing documents
• preparing materials for prioritization and decision-making
• supporting the region's work with risk and vulnerability analyses (RSA) as well as continuity planning
• monitoring identified measures and development initiatives
• exercising, training, and participating in the region's crisis management organization
• contributing to a cohesive regional situational picture

The work covers strategic, tactical, and operational aspects, with a focus on planning, coordination, and monitoring. The majority of the tasks aim to support and strengthen the region's vital societal functions. In the event of special incidents, you will participate in staff work based on your role.

You work in a joint team where assignments are distributed based on needs and priorities. The role involves close collaboration with the region's operations as well as external actors. You are expected to take initiative, drive issues forward, and contribute to the whole - even when assignments and priorities change rapidly.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• relevant university education or equivalent experience in crisis preparedness, societal security, or a related field
• experience working in the public sector or another complex organization
• experience working with RSA, continuity planning, or similar governance processes
• good ability to analyze, structure, and translate requirements into practical work
• good collaboration and coordination skills

It is meritorious if you have:

• experience in staff work or crisis management
• good knowledge of healthcare, operating such activities under disturbed conditions, and disaster medicine
• good knowledge of relevant legislation in the area

• have good skills in collaboration and building trust
• be able to work both long-term and handle rapid changes
• take responsibility for driving the work forward in collaboration with others
