Do you want to work in a central role close to production where the pace is fast and your contribution makes a real difference every day? We are now looking for an operational buyer responsible for inventory procurement. You will become part of the Operational Purchasing and Preparation department, consisting of approximately 14 employees. Here, you will have good opportunities to receive support from colleagues in purchasing, invoicing, and system issues. The role involves individual responsibility as well as collaboration across several functions in the organization.

As an operational buyer, you are responsible for purchases related to our inventory, which includes approximately 2,000 items – both critical components and consumables used continuously in production. You work closely with production and the service department, ensuring that the right materials are available at the right time. The role involves quickly handling urgent needs and prioritizing when situations arise – for example, when stock runs out and lead times are long.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for purchasing inventory items and production-related consumables (e.g., grinding materials, silicone, lubricating oils)
• Daily contact with production and the service department regarding needs
• Close collaboration with strategic purchasing, R&D, and suppliers
• Work in SAP where all purchases are managed
• Follow up on deliveries and ensure availability of critical materials

Your workplace is ABB Motion at our production and service unit in Västerås. The work is performed on-site at the office.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in purchasing, production, or warehouse/logistics
• University degree or post-secondary education (KY/YH) in purchasing, logistics, or similar is advantageous.
• Experience with SAP or similar business systems (advantageous)
• Technical understanding, preferably familiar with material, quality, or drawing issues
• Fluent Swedish and good knowledge of English
• Independent, solution-oriented, and stress-resistant with good teamwork skills
