Description

The power grid industry is undergoing a period of change with increased electrification, new regulatory requirements, and a growing need for long-term planning. To meet this development, we are looking for a Power Grid Strategist who wants to contribute with analysis, environmental scanning, and a strategic perspective to our continued development. As a Power Grid Strategist with us, you will help shape the future power grid together with us at Karlstads Energi!

You will become part of the Business Area Power Grid, which consists of the units Operations, Production, and Projects. The role reports directly to the Business Area Manager, giving you a central position in the operations, with the opportunity to influence both strategic choices and long-term development. Here you will work closely with management and operations on issues spanning regulations, tariff development, authority requirements, and future prerequisites for power grid operations.

Responsibilities

As a Power Grid Strategist, you play a central role in ensuring that Karlstads Energi's power grid operations are equipped for future requirements. You are responsible for monitoring and analyzing changes in legislation, authority requirements, and regulatory frameworks, and translating these into strategies, working methods, and decision support materials that support the development of the operations.

The role entails overall responsibility for the company's work with power grid regulation, tariffs, and connection fees. Through analyses of revenue caps, customer structures, and the company's prerequisites, you contribute with data that strengthens both commercial and long-term decisions. You are also responsible for authority and statistical reporting, as well as driving the development of processes and working methods within your area of responsibility.

You work closely with management and operations on issues that affect the future development of the power grid. Through environmental scanning, analytical work, and participation in industry forums and strategic initiatives, you contribute to strengthening the company's ability to meet new requirements and opportunities in an industry undergoing rapid change. Here you have the opportunity to influence both the direction of the operations and the development of the future power grid.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a university degree in areas such as high voltage engineering, energy systems, industrial economics, economics, law, or other relevant fields.

You have several years of experience from the power grid industry, the energy sector, or other regulated operations, and have worked with, for example, power grid regulation, authority reporting, tariff work, analysis, or strategic development work. You have a good understanding of how legislation and regulations affect operations and are accustomed to translating complex issues into well-founded decision support.

To succeed in the role, you are analytical, structured, and have the ability to see connections between technology, economics, regulations, and operations. You take responsibility for complex issues, drive work forward, and communicate clearly and pedagogically.

The role involves many internal and external contacts. Therefore, you have good collaboration skills, an interest in environmental scanning and industry development, and thrive on building networks and creating collaborations that contribute to the development of the operations.

Upon hiring, alcohol and drug testing will be conducted, and a valid professional license is required at the interview.
