Götene Municipal Library is looking for a Librarian

The municipal library is a small public library in Götene. The library is part of the collaboration Library West Skaraborg with a shared library system and catalog. We have close cooperation with the citizen service office, switchboard, and general cultural activities. The library is also responsible for the school libraries in all of the municipality's primary schools. In 2027, Library West Skaraborg will introduce KOHA as its library system. Therefore, experience with programming and/or knowledge of KOHA is considered desirable.

Job Responsibilities

As a librarian with us, you work primarily at the information desk, where you meet and guide visitors from all target groups regarding loans, information searching, and other library matters. The work also includes shelving books, program activities, and other common library tasks.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• has a university degree in library/information science or another education that the employer deems equivalent
• has a B-class driver's license

You find it easy to collaborate closely with others and contribute to good relationships through an attentive, smooth, and constructive work approach. Listening and communicating clearly in a professional manner is an important part of the assignment. A service-oriented attitude is crucial. This means treating others with calm, attention, and a accommodating attitude, as well as actively working to find solutions and provide support where needed. You are self-reliant and take responsibility for your tasks.

It is desirable if you:

• have experience working in a library
• have a pedagogical approach
• have good IT skills and are confident in using digital resources
• have an interest in and knowledge of programming
• have good knowledge of social media

Conditions:

The position is 100%. Start date by agreement. Working hours also include evenings and weekends according to schedule. Selection and interviews will take place continuously during the application period. Probationary employment may apply.
