The Cultural Administration has approximately 800 employees who mainly work in libraries, cultural houses, museums, and other cultural activities.

About the position

The Southern Archipelago Library is located on Styrsö and provides service to the archipelago's nearly 5,000 residents. The library is staffed by two librarians and is part of a unit together with Askim and Högsbo libraries. Here you will work closely with both colleagues and residents in an operation where relationships, participation, and local engagement are important parts of the mission.

As a librarian at the Southern Archipelago Library, you work both independently and together with your colleague to develop and operate library services for children, young people, and adults. You have special responsibility for activities directed towards children and young people and work with reading promotion initiatives, program activities, and other activities that strengthen the library's role as a meeting place. An important part of the mission is to involve the archipelago's residents in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the activities. You meet visitors in the daily library work, mediate literature and cultural experiences, and guide in the use of the library's digital services.

The position is a fixed-term employment at 100% until 2027-06-29. The work is scheduled during days, evenings, and weekends according to a schedule. If necessary, work may also take place at other libraries within the unit.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• A degree in Library and Information Science
• Good proficiency in using and guiding others in digital services
• Good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience of library work in public libraries
• Experience of working with children and young people
