Chalmers Library is looking for you who want to work with the library's support for researchers and doctoral students. Here you will get a varied role where you combine advice on scientific publishing with work on registration, quality assurance, and handling of research information and metadata.
Through your work, you contribute to making Chalmers research more visible, searchable, and usable, while also strengthening the institution's work with open science.

We work to create accessible and inspiring library environments that support the university's education and research. As the only university library in Sweden, Chalmers Library is integrated into a department, Communication and Learning in Science. This provides advantages such as closer collaboration with both research and education.
The library consists of two departments: Information Resources and Scientific Publishing, and Learning and Learning Environments. The position is located in the former, where we work with researcher support, bibliometrics, and media. The department consists of about twenty employees – librarians, bibliometricians, and a specialist in information and data processing.
Description of the position
As a librarian within researcher support, you work with the library's support in scientific publishing and are responsible for registration, quality assurance, and handling of research information in Chalmers Research and other relevant systems.
The duties include among other things:
- providing guidance to researchers and doctoral students regarding the publishing process, such as choice of publication channel, licenses, and requirements from research funders
- providing support and guidance regarding the library's and the institution's publishing and research information systems
- registering, reviewing, and ensuring the quality of metadata for scientific publications
- monitoring and handling information flows between different systems
- contributing to the development and documentation of routines, processes, and working methods
- identifying opportunities for improvement and contributing to the development of the library's work with researcher support
Employment type
Permanent full-time position. Probation period may apply.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have:
- a degree in Library and Information Science or other education that the employer deems relevant
- a good understanding of the research process and the conditions for scientific publishing
- experience working with research information, including metadata management and quality assurance in relevant information systems
- experience in user support, counseling, or service within information or library operations
- very good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
It is meritorious if you have experience with:
- knowledge of Open Science with a focus on scientific publishing and open access to publications
- knowledge of publishing agreements, licenses, and copyright
- experience in support and user support in an academic environment
- interest in and knowledge of AI's possibilities and limitations within scientific publishing and research support
