About Kocher Hem AB
Kocher Hem AB offers consultant-supported emergency and foster homes for children and young people in need of care, security, stability, and support. We work with a vision that all children have the right to a caring upbringing and a future full of opportunities. By carefully matching children with experienced, competent, and thoroughly vetted foster homes, we ensure that each child receives holistic care and a strong foundation for their development. Our work involves close collaboration with social services, schools, healthcare, and other key actors to create long-term security for the children.
We are now looking for an engaged and experienced foster home consultant for the regions of Uppsala County, Stockholm County, Västmanland County, and Örebro County. The work is based at an office, but there is an opportunity for remote work when the operations allow it.
Responsibilities
As a foster home consultant with us, you will have an important and varied role with responsibility for:
- Recruiting and assessing new foster homes: Responsible for identifying, interviewing, and assessing foster homes that can offer a safe and stable environment. The work includes home visits, document collection, assessment, and ensuring necessary background checks.
- Support and supervision: Provide continuous support and supervision to emergency and foster homes to support them in their mission and help them handle the challenges that may arise in working with placed children.
- Collaboration and care planning: Work in close cooperation with other actors, including schools, healthcare, and social services, to ensure comprehensive support for each child. You participate in care planning and network meetings and follow up to ensure agreed care measures are followed.
- Follow-up and documentation: Continuously monitor the child's development and the foster home's situation through regular meetings and documentation of the child's well-being.
Qualifications and Requirements
We are looking for someone who has:
- Education and experience: A degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or equivalent education, with experience in working with foster care placements or with children and young people.
- Knowledge: Good knowledge of the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU). Experience working according to the BBIC model is an advantage.
- Personal qualities: Ability to work independently and structured, while maintaining a high degree of flexibility. You are communicative, have good collaboration skills, and treat both children and emergency/foster homes with respect. You are confident in handling changed circumstances and thrive in a role that requires precision and structure.
- Practical requirements: Valid driver's license (Category B) and availability to work evenings and weekends.
What We Offer
We offer an introduction and ongoing coaching and training to ensure you get into your role in the best possible way. With us, you have the opportunity to work in an operation that prioritizes the best interests of the children and promotes long-term relationships with both children and emergency/foster homes.
