Job Responsibilities

As a school nurse in Hedemora Municipality, you work with students from preschool class through upper secondary school. Your duties include conducting health visits and health conversations according to the Student Health Services' Medical Intervention (EMI), monitoring students' health and development, and administering vaccinations in accordance with the national child vaccination program.

You are also responsible for simpler healthcare interventions, medical assessments within the school's operations, and counseling for students, guardians, and staff regarding health and lifestyle issues. You are a key part of the collective student health service and collaborate closely with principals, counselors, psychologists, special education teachers, teachers, and other school staff.

Together, you work to promote health and prevent illness to create good conditions for learning, health, and development for all students. The position is located within the Education Administration, Welfare Department, covering students in preschool class to grade 6 in the municipality's outer areas.

Qualifications and Merits

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with specialist education as a school nurse, child health nurse, or district nurse. To thrive and succeed in this role, you need to have good skills in collaboration and creating trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues from different professions.

Requirements for employment:

• Licensed Nurse (RN).
• Specialist Nurse degree with a focus on district nursing, child and youth, or the School Nurse Program.
• Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.
• Category B driver's license.

Meritorious qualifications:

• Experience working as a school nurse.
• Experience working with children and young people.
• Knowledge of the student health service's mission and relevant legislation.
• Knowledge of the Prorenata medical record system.
