Borlänge Municipality's centrally organized child and student health services is a delightfully dynamic workplace characterized by quality, collaboration, flexibility, and development. The centrally organized child and student health service has the task of supporting the development of local student health services and strengthening the student health perspective. A large part of the work's focus is preventive and health-promoting. The work as a whole is varied and takes place at the organizational, group, and individual levels, in collaboration with school staff, guardians, and other authorities, but also cross-professionally within the framework of our own operations. Collaboration with other authorities and actors is included as needed.

In the centrally organized child and student health service, school nurses, school doctors, school psychologists, school speech therapists, and special education teachers for preschools work, along with a medically responsible nurse and a medical secretary. We work from a school perspective, which is partly regulated by the Education Act, and further from the Health and Medical Services Act and its ordinances. The organization is led by a unit manager but also has a deputy unit manager who will be your direct supervisor.

Even though you as a school nurse are placed at a school unit, you still have proximity to your school nurse colleagues and other staff at the child and central student health service. You will be part of a work team with other school nurses with whom you also have regular meetings. Furthermore, we work together on various development projects and meet within the framework of our category meetings. You will also receive support and assistance from our medically responsible nurse.

Job Responsibilities

As one of our employees is moving on to new challenges in a completely different role, we are now looking for a new school nurse.

Your main task is to work preventively and health-promoting to support students' development towards educational goals. You conduct health visits/health talks and vaccinations based on the basic program for student health's medical interventions. You meet our students through planned visits and open reception, both individually and in groups. You contribute your expertise to the school's systematic quality work and in pedagogical development, with an emphasis on promoting and preventing student health work. You participate in competence and method development within student health's medical interventions (EMI) to create good conditions for equal child and student health.

You are part of the student health team led by the principal and collaborate closely with school doctors, school psychologists, and school counselors, and naturally with other colleagues at the school. Your common goal is to create a safe environment that promotes health, security, and learning. You have a broad network both internally and externally where you contribute to good collaboration with, among others, guardians, social services, and other healthcare providers linked to the assignment.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with further education as a district, pediatric, and/or school nurse.

You handle the Swedish language very well in both speech and writing. A B-class driver's license is required.

It is meritorious if you have worked as a school nurse previously. Since the work involves health-promoting work at the organizational, group, and individual levels with a focus on children and young people, it is a big plus if you have prior experience in this. We would like you to have experience meeting children and young people from different parts of the world. You have good IT skills, and if you have previously worked in the medical record system PMO, it is meritorious.
