Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is the region's specialist resource for children and adolescents with moderate to severe mental health issues. The department consists of approximately 200 employees from various professional backgrounds. Here you will find consultants, resident specialists, psychologists, counselors, nurses, psychotherapists, team leaders, dietitians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech therapists, and care administrators.

The department is undergoing a transformation journey to meet the needs of today and the future within child and adolescent psychiatry. The patient is always at the center. As the Medical Director (MLA), you will have the opportunity to influence and develop child and adolescent psychiatry in Värmland. There are also good opportunities to participate in national development work together with the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) and the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SKR).

Your responsibilities

The position involves providing medical leadership support to the Head of Department and being part of the department's leadership group. The assignment includes:

• Acting as a medical competence support to the Head of Department.
• Supporting the Head of Department with medical follow-up and reporting.
• Working together with the department's leadership group to develop region-wide routines and guidelines.
• Preparing medical questions and cases together with the department's leadership group.
• On assignment, ensuring that the activities within the area are conducted in accordance with current legislation and guidelines, as well as scientific principles.
• Contributing to Lex Maria analyses and drafting statements to the Swedish Health and Care Inspectorate (IVO) when cases have been reported to the authority.

Your skills and competencies

We are looking for you who are a specialist doctor in child and adolescent psychiatry or have another specialist education that the employer considers relevant for the position.

You are engaged and responsive with a clear patient focus. You have good cooperation skills and a solution-oriented approach to work, and you can work both independently and in professional and cross-professional groups.

We also see that you have a great interest in development work, as child and adolescent psychiatry in Värmland is in an intensive development phase.
