We are currently seeking hourly substitute staff for our kitchen substitute pool in preschools, schools, and elderly care, where you will find meaningful work with a wide network of contacts.

As a substitute, you are vital for our youngest citizens to ensure they have a pleasant stay in our schools and preschools. In the substitute pool, you replace permanent staff as needed, making you a crucial piece in ensuring our operations run smoothly. Sometimes you cover single shifts with short notice, and other times for longer periods.

Job Responsibilities

In the substitute pool, you will be employed as a cook or kitchen assistant.

• As a cook, you are responsible for cooking, salad preparation, packing, dishwashing/cleaning, and self-inspections in large kitchens. To work as a cook, you need relevant education and documented experience from kitchen work.
• As a kitchen assistant, you help with the preparation of breakfast, lunch, and snacks in large kitchens. You are also responsible for dishwashing, cleaning in the kitchen and dining room, serving meals, and participating in self-inspections. In elderly care, cash handling is also included. To work as a kitchen assistant, you need relevant education and/or documented experience from kitchen work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is at least 18 years old and proficient in Swedish, both written and spoken. To succeed in this role, we see that you are service-oriented, flexible in your approach as you often meet new staff and children's groups, self-motivated, tidy, structured, and take responsibility for your tasks. We place great emphasis on personal qualities and interest in the position.

As a substitute, you must be able to work at least two days a week, which may also involve weekend work, and be able to work throughout Karlstad Municipality, including our outer areas (Molkom, Vålberg, Edsvalla, Väse, and Skattkärr).
