Do you want to be part of Luleå's future development and be inspired by working in an organization with a strong focus on sustainability and the environment?

Lumire, Luleå Miljöresurs AB, is a municipal company for water and wastewater, waste management, recycling, and reuse. Lumire is owned by Luleå Municipality, and we are 240 employees ensuring that all residents of Luleå have healthy and tasty drinking water from the tap and that waste and wastewater are handled in a circular manner.

By coordinating water and waste issues within the same company, we are a strong player in sustainable environmental technology and societal development.

Lumire is in an exciting phase of development and is a natural actor in the work towards the green transition and a sustainable Luleå. As a Project Manager, you play a crucial role in the work ahead. Together, we make Luleå sustainable.

Luleå has stepped into a very exciting and challenging time with a major focus on sustainable and attractive urban and rural development. At Lumire's Water and Wastewater (VA) department, we jointly take responsibility for managing and investing in a sustainable and efficient VA system. In our work, we have a clear focus on creating a robust VA facility to minimize future disruptions for our customers.

About the role

As a Project Manager within VA, you have a key role in the development of Luleå's infrastructure. Our projects form the basis for new housing, densification, and industrial development, ranging from reinvestments in existing facilities to new construction and reconstruction of water and wastewater systems in complex environments.

The role is aimed at you who have experience leading construction projects, civil engineering projects, or other types of infrastructure investments, and who are accustomed to driving projects in the implementation phase with clear responsibility for production, economy, and results.

The projects are often characterized by high investment values, many stakeholders, and requirements for long-term technical robustness. The role involves making decisions even when conditions change and not all answers are available from the start.

The assignment includes ensuring that projects comply with current legislation, permits, and technical requirements, as well as driving necessary trade-offs between function, cost, and future operations. You work closely with contractors, consultants, authorities, businesses, and other parts of the municipal group, where dialogue, collaboration, and clear communication are crucial for success.

As a Project Manager at Lumire, you are a central part of a larger context, where your work contributes to shaping a sustainable and attractive Luleå.

At Lumire, we place great importance on daily collaboration among colleagues. We believe in the strength of working closely together, sharing knowledge, and solving issues together in everyday life. Remote work opportunities exist, but the work is primarily based at the office, where we build good team cohesion and support each other in projects.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are confident in the leadership role and have the will and drive to help develop and build an attractive and sustainable Luleå. You have a development-oriented and flexible work approach, see the big picture in projects, and are driven by making a difference.

You are skilled at collaborating and have the ability to unite and engage – you are the hub that gets teams and stakeholders to pull in the same direction. Through trust-building and clear communication, you create involvement and achieve results.

You are accustomed to working with high economic investment frameworks and have a good business sense. You are confident in making decisions and trade-offs to drive projects forward.

You have experience working according to AB 04 and ABT 06 and use your understanding of standard contracts as a tool for business trade-offs related to risk, responsibility, and economy.

You have:

  • a university or college education in a relevant technical field, or equivalent professional experience as assessed by the employer

  • several years of experience in project management and contracting or project leadership/design within civil engineering, construction, or process industry

  • understanding of public procurement and preferably experience with contracting procurement

Good communication is central to the assignment. Therefore, it is a requirement that you are fluent in Swedish in both speech and writing. You also have sufficient knowledge of English to understand technical documentation and collaborate in international contexts.

A B-driver's license is required as travel during the job occurs.

We offer you

We offer challenging and exciting work with great opportunities for influence and involvement in Lumire's future development.

We value a long-term sustainable working life and strive to create a good balance between work and leisure. Here, everyone receives a generous wellness allowance, one wellness hour per week, and the opportunity to participate in joint wellness activities. It is important to us that you develop, feel job satisfaction, and are well.

Do you want to become an environmental resource?

Then you will thrive at Lumire. As an employee, you work with some of society's most significant functions: clean drinking water and sustainable waste and wastewater management. What we do matters today – and for future generations.
