Scandic Hotels is the leading hotel chain in the Nordics with a strong focus on sustainability, energy efficiency, and smart property management. We are now looking for a Drift Engineer who wants to take overall responsibility for optimizing energy consumption at our hotels in the Stockholm area.

In this role, you will work strategically and operationally with 28 hotels in Stockholm, where each property has its own technical prerequisites, agreements, and energy needs. You will base yourself at the hotel closest to your home but will move between our hotels to analyze, follow up on, and develop operations.

This is a key role where your work directly impacts both the hotels' economy and Scandic's sustainability efforts.

About the role:
As a Drift Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring energy-efficient and well-functioning technical operations at our hotels. You work closely with the hotels' local technicians, property owners, and external service partners.

You will not perform routine maintenance or repairs yourself, but will function as a technical specialist, advisor, and sounding board for the local operational teams. The role may also require you to perform practical work on-site at the hotels when needed, such as screwing, adjusting, or troubleshooting equipment.

Your main responsibilities:

• Analyze energy consumption and identify improvement and saving opportunities
• Optimize ventilation, heating, and cooling systems for the best possible operational economy and guest comfort
• Work with control and monitoring systems to ensure efficient operation
• Troubleshoot and rectify technical operational deviations
• Ensure that the hotels' patrol routines and operational processes function according to set standards
• Plan and follow up on preventive maintenance together with the hotels' technicians
• Coordinate and follow up on external contractors and service suppliers
• Ensure compliance with authority requirements, safety regulations, and inspections
• Provide technical expert support during renovation and investment projects
• Contribute to the development of Scandic's long-term energy and sustainability work

Person Profile

To fit this role, we believe you have worked with energy efficiency in hotels or commercial properties.

We are looking for you who combine technical knowledge with an analytical approach to work. You enjoy understanding how different systems interact and are driven by finding improvements that yield measurable results.

To succeed in the role, we believe you:

• Have experience in property management, energy optimization, or technical installation systems
• Have a good understanding of HVAC systems (ventilation, heating, and cooling)
• Have experience with control and regulation systems
• Are accustomed to analyzing data and translating insights into concrete actions
• Are self-reliant and thrive with significant personal responsibility
• Easily build trust and collaborate with technicians, contractors, and property owners
• Have good knowledge of Swedish and English

• Start: According to agreement
• Scope: Full-time and permanent
• Working hours: 8:00 – 16:30, flexible hours
• Location: You base yourself at a Scandic hotel near your residence, but a large part of the work takes place at our 28 hotels in Greater Stockholm.
