The possible places of employment are the outpatient psychiatry in Nyköping or Katrineholm, both within the Psychiatry Clinic Nyköping. On-call duties are based from Nyköping.

The outpatient psychiatry in Nyköping and Katrineholm offers specialist psychiatric care to adult patients over 18 years of age. We work in a patient-centered manner and in cross-professional teams where the patient's needs are the focus.

About the Role

The duties as a specialist physician in psychiatric outpatient care involve a broad and qualified medical responsibility where you work with standard specialist physician tasks at a treatment clinic. The role involves meeting patients for new visits, conducting medical assessments, investigating, diagnosing, and treating psychiatric conditions, as well as following up on initiated treatments. Patient contact occurs through physical visits, video meetings, and phone, and you are also responsible for handling prescription requests and continuous medication follow-up.

The work takes place in close collaboration with other professions, which requires good cooperation skills and an active contribution to the team's collective competence. You participate regularly in treatment conferences together with all staff at the clinic, where patient cases are discussed and appropriate interventions are planned from a holistic perspective. In addition, you participate in weekly doctor meetings where complex cases are analyzed, experiences are shared, and collegial consultation is enabled, contributing to both quality assurance and continuous learning.

The role also includes supervision of ST physicians, BT physicians, and assistant physicians, which entails a pedagogical responsibility to support and develop the next generation of doctors. You are also expected to actively contribute to departmental development, quality assurance, and improvement work within the clinic. In summary, this is a varied and developmental role where your medical competence is central, both in direct patient care and in collaboration with colleagues and the organization as a whole.

Our Expectations of You

We are looking for you who are a specialist physician in psychiatry and have on-call competence, or are close to achieving it. You are confident in your professional role, used to making independent decisions, and have a good ability to handle complex clinical situations. You have a genuine interest in working with patients with general psychiatric conditions, including neuropsychiatric disabilities.

Requirements:

• Licensed physician with specialist competence in psychiatry
• Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing

Employment Type

The position is a permanent, full-time employment. Probationary period may apply. Start date by agreement.
