We are looking for an Orthoptist for our pediatric team in Region Sörmland!

Ögonkliniken Sörmland (Eye Clinic Sörmland) is a regional clinic divided into three clinics located in Eskilstuna, Katrineholm, and Nyköping. We perform cataract surgeries, outpatient surgeries, anti-VEGF treatments, and monitor patients with various chronic eye diseases. Our team includes ophthalmic nurses, nurses, healthcare assistants, optometrists, orthoptists, medical secretaries, and ophthalmologists. Here, you will work both closely with colleagues in a team and independently, contributing to high flexibility and close collaboration across professional boundaries.

Your Responsibilities

• Examination of children and adults
• Glasses prescription
• Refraction
• Amblyopia treatment
• Examination and treatment of diplopia (double vision)
• Neuro-ophthalmological examination
• FUS prior to strabismus surgery

About the Role

As an orthoptist with us, you will work in a county-wide pediatric team consisting of two pediatric ophthalmologists and two orthoptists. The pediatric team holds regular conferences where the entire team gathers to discuss patient cases and general questions regarding patient care. Participation in orthoptist meetings and pediatric eye meetings across the country is a high priority. Since we have clinics at all hospitals in the county, travel may be required as part of the job.

Your Qualifications

You must be a trained orthoptist. Previous experience is meritorious, and we place great value on teamwork and flexibility, as we work in a county-wide pediatric team. We place significant emphasis on personal qualities.

Location and Employment

The placement location is flexible and can be at one of our hospitals in Eskilstuna, Nyköping, or Katrineholm. The employment is permanent with a start date to be agreed upon.
