About the organization

NordGen (Nordic Genetic Resource Center) is an institution under the Nordic Council of Ministers working to preserve and promote the sustainable use of genetic resources important for food and agriculture. We do this by maintaining a collection of 33,000 seed samples, leading and participating in various projects, and bringing together professionals working with farm animals, forestry, and plants. NordGen is also responsible for the seed handling at the Svalbard Global Seed Vault.

About the position

We are now looking for a temporary staff member for our seed lab for a period of one year. You will work in a specialized operation where precision, structure, and quality are crucial in daily work. The work involves recurring and standardized tasks and suits you if you thrive by performing careful work by following predetermined routines.

Responsibilities

• Handling and preparation of seed samples
• Analysis work with technical equipment
• Quality control and documentation
• Registration and follow-up of results in digital systems

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are confident in working with digital systems and have good experience with:

• Excel
• Databases and registration systems
• Digital documentation
• Careful data handling

• The employment is a one-year temporary position.
• The position is located at NordGen's headquarters in Alnarp. You report to the head of the seed laboratory.
