With us at the Investigation Unit for Children and Young People, you will become part of an engaged team that focuses on quality, job satisfaction, and sustainable working methods. We are looking for you who have worked for a few years, master the case handling area, and want to help others develop. We are also looking for you who are newer to the profession and long to develop together with experienced colleagues.

Within the Individual and Family Care, a comprehensive implementation of Signs of Safety and preparations for Future Social Services are currently underway – a journey where we build on what works and continuously develop what is missing. The Children and Young People Authority has a new management structure to enable close and sustainable leadership, with four engaged and experienced unit managers – each responsible for reception, investigation, placement, as well as foster homes and family law. At the Investigation Unit, we work based on psychological safety, shared learning, that everyone can rely on someone, and that no one has to face difficult issues alone.

Job Responsibilities

If you start with us, you will work with investigations and interventions for children and young people aged 0–20. You will conduct preliminary assessments in existing cases, investigate and approve interventions, and follow up on open care. Conversations with children, young people, and their families are part of everyday life, and documentation makes up a large part of the work. You collaborate internally and with other operations to support the children and young people you handle. Some travel is involved.

The complexity of your cases depends on your experience with the social services' authority functions in the area. If you have worked for a long time with similar tasks, there are good opportunities to share your knowledge and support colleagues through mentoring and co-case handling. If you are new as a case handler, you will receive support from colleagues to grow into the tasks at a comfortable pace. Specialist social workers, colleagues, and the unit manager are available to support and guide you in daily life.

Qualifications

A degree in Social Work (Social Worker) is an absolute requirement for consideration for the position.

• have a genuine commitment to children and young people in vulnerable situations
• are unpretentious and reflective
• find it easy to create good collaborations with colleagues, children, young people, and their networks
• are familiar with or want to learn to work according to BBIC and Signs of Safety
• are structured and can express yourself well in speech and writing
• have a B driver's license
• want to contribute to a secure workplace where everyone is important and has a voice

Particularly meritorious:

• several years of experience with authority functions for children and young people
• interest in and experience in guiding others within the professional field
