Who are we?
Welcome to our children's and youth residences under Section 9:8 of the LSS Act (Swedish Social Services Act) – a workplace where you make a real difference every day.
We are now expanding our operations and are therefore looking for dedicated support assistants who want to help shape our activities together with us. Here, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a safe, developmental, and professional environment – both for the children and young people we work with and for your colleagues.
We are recruiting for two units: Ånestadsgatan 156 in Smedby, an established facility, and Vägstumpen 1 in Svärtinge – a new unit starting in autumn 2026. You will belong to one of the units, where you will become an important part of creating a strong and well-functioning work team.
We have a total of seven residential places within our operations. In our facilities, children and young people with various disabilities, backgrounds, and individual needs reside. The operations have a high staff density, and we have 24/7 staffing with both awake night shifts and sleeping on-call duty.
At our center, the children and young people are always at the core. We work purposefully to promote their independence and create a safe and adapted residential environment based on their individual needs and conditions.
Your responsibilities
The work in the facility is based on the individual's implementation plan. Our goal is to work so that each individual becomes as independent and secure as possible to develop according to their abilities. You provide individualized support and maintain a professional approach.
Together with the rest of the staff group, consisting of support assistants and support pedagogues, you form a team around the individuals living here. As an employee here, you play a significant role in our team to create security and quality of life for our residents in their home.
You are part of the individual-focused work, which involves following our children and young people in their daily lives. The tasks include everything that occurs in a home environment, guided by the individual's needs. The work involves contact with many actors, both internally and externally. This is important to maintain the holistic work around each individual as the children and young people reside with us permanently.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who are a support assistant or have equivalent education focused on disabilities, experience and competence in working in facilities for people with disabilities, or other relevant education deemed equivalent.
Experience and knowledge of working with people with various types of challenging behavior, such as physical and verbal aggression, and self-harming behavior, are required. We would appreciate it if you have experience and knowledge of socially destructive behavior, as this occurs within our target groups.
We also require experience with clarifying pedagogy, low-arousal approach, and neuropsychiatry. We view previous experience and work with children and young people within LSS positively, as well as work with special diagnoses such as PWS and NPF, and knowledge of trauma and crisis management.
It is desirable that you can sign language or use signs as support and/or are familiar with other forms of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).
You have a high level of structure and a holistic perspective, while also having a well-rooted approach related to user- and relative-related issues within the LSS target group. It is important that you can collaborate and work based on decisions made in the facility. Taking initiative and striving to create good relationships and achieve results are considered important competencies.
Being a good role model for our children and young people as well as your coworkers is second nature to you. You are receptive and adapt your communication to the person you meet, which also means you have high self-awareness where you are conscious of your feelings and actions and how this affects your work situations.
The night shift requires that you enjoy working independently. You see what needs to be done and take initiative in your daily work, which includes implementing and developing new ideas and methods. You are flexible and can change your approach and adapt when the situation requires it. You are good at prioritizing and finding solutions in different situations. You are accustomed to working with risk assessments and can see both the big picture and the details.
As a person, you are calm and secure with a positive basic attitude and commitment to the target group. You see opportunities from a professional approach and want to contribute to developing the facility based on the existing goals.
You who apply have good computer skills and can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
A B-class driver's license is desirable.
