Description
Are you a qualified and experienced lawyer who wants to work with a focus on civil protection and cross-authority legal issues? Then you might be the one we are looking for.
The County Administrative Board is the highest civilian total defense authority in the county and plays a key role in leading, coordinating, and developing civil defense. We need to strengthen our legal competence for this work.
The position is located within the Administration and Legal Unit, which handles the authority's legal advice and case handling, as well as registry and archive tasks.
Responsibilities
A significant part of the responsibilities involves acting as a coordinator within civil protection and providing support to other authorities on matters concerning total defense.
As an in-house lawyer, you will collaborate closely with the Chief Legal Counsel and provide support to the county administration and other parts of the authority regarding cross-authority legal issues such as total defense, public law, security protection, and quality assurance of preparatory materials, consultations, agreements, and contracts. Case handling or decision-making is included in the role as needed, particularly during peak workloads concerning the Planning and Building Act, the Environmental Code, and the Act of Emergency Preparedness and Protection.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- A Bachelor of Laws (Jur. Cand.) or equivalent law degree
- Completed judicial training (tingsmeritering)
- Several years of experience in qualified legal work within public sector operations
- Several years of experience working with a consultative approach
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience working with legal total defense issues
- Experience from working at a County Administrative Board or another state authority
- Leadership experience
As a person, you are clear, have integrity, and are confident in your decision-making. You are solution-oriented within the framework of legal certainty, drive and follow up on goals and results, and have a professional and welcoming attitude. As an in-house lawyer, you need to be able to handle both long-term strategic issues simultaneously with rapidly emerging cases. You are unpretentious, have good collaboration skills, and can inspire, motivate, and lead colleagues.
A central role for the County Administrative Board as an authority is to make trade-offs between different interests. You need to have a good ability to make legal interest trade-offs and make decisions considering multiple perspectives from a holistic view and with a critical approach.
Our operations are also changing based on what happens in the outside world, which requires our employees to have the ability to prioritize and adapt to work with new tasks or in new contexts.
We place great importance on your personal qualities. There are good opportunities to take on greater responsibility and develop within the scope of the work area in the long term. You should have a valid driver's license (Category B).
