Urban Planner for Kiruna Municipality

We are now looking for 1–2 Urban Planners who want to step into a central role and contribute experience, a holistic perspective, and stability as we develop the Kiruna of the future.

About the Role

As an Urban Planner with us, you will have the opportunity to shape the municipality's future by contributing to urban transformation, societal development, and sustainable planning. Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting investigations within urban planning
• Supporting the department's operational and strategic work
• Contributing to the municipality's urban development and relocation projects
• Managing public contacts and consultations

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is confident, experienced, and curious – someone accustomed to driving planning processes and eager to continue developing.

We believe you have:

• Relevant higher education, e.g., in physical planning, urban planning, architecture, or similar
• Strong ability to apply legislation within the Planning and Building Act (PBL) and the Environmental Code (MB)
• Experience collaborating with numerous stakeholders and building trusting relationships
• Ability to work independently, structured, and solution-oriented

Previous experience working in a politically governed organization is considered an advantage.
