As an IT Technician in the Swedish Armed Forces, together with competent and engaged colleagues, you will have responsibility, development, and challenges.

 

About the Unit

The Swedish Armed Forces Telecommunications and Information Systems Corps (FMTIS) Implementation Unit North and the Sollefteå Implementation Division have five units that perform operations and maintenance of the Swedish Armed Forces' command and control systems.

Implementation Unit North is one of them.

The unit has a geographical spread that largely covers Norrland (Northern Sweden) and is staffed with both military and civilian personnel.

The Sollefteå Implementation Division is based in the towns of Sollefteå and Östersund and consists of two sections with different focuses. The division's main work is primarily preventive and corrective maintenance.

 

About the Position

The work consists of independently performing installation, configuration, proactive and corrective maintenance, incident management in the IT environment on the Swedish Armed Forces' computers and network components, as well as user support in both open and classified IT environments.

The work is varied and is mainly carried out in Sollefteå, but other parts of the country may also be involved. The Swedish Armed Forces are experiencing strong growth, and the tasks may develop over time.

Internal training for specific areas of work is provided by the Swedish Armed Forces.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Education focused on IT/data at a minimum of upper secondary school level or equivalent knowledge assessed by the employer as equivalent.
  • Good computer knowledge, both hardware and software for servers and clients in a Windows environment.
  • Documented knowledge of active and passive network equipment.
  • Ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Category B driver's license, manual transmission.

Personal qualities

We are looking for someone who is engaged and service-oriented. You can solve technical problems independently and see opportunities in a situation. You are a good team player while also taking initiative and personal responsibility. You are quality- and security-conscious, development-oriented, and have an eye for order and good planning.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.

 

Meritorious

  • Current and relevant professional experience with IT systems, IT equipment, or IT communications.
  • Experience with ITIL process work.
  • Experience with IT security work, e.g., information security.
  • Experience working in IT projects.
  • IT certifications from e.g., Microsoft or Cisco.
  • Knowledge of cabling/connecting and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with Swedish Armed Forces equipment.

Other

Employment type: Permanent. The Swedish Armed Forces apply a six-month probationary period for those not already employed by the agency.

Work location: Sollefteå

Employment level: Full-time. The position is civilian.

In the Swedish Armed Forces, the position is referred to as Operations Engineer (Driftingenjör).

Travel within the service occurs.

Start date: Immediately or as agreed.
