About the Department
The Environmental and Community Planning Administration is responsible for, among other things, environmental and health protection, building permits, GIS, and surveying. We are approximately 23 employees who work closely together in shared premises, making collaboration simple and efficient.
At the Environmental and Building Unit, there currently works an environmental and building manager, a building permit coordinator, a building inspector, two building permit officers, six environmental inspectors, and a food inspector. We are now looking for a person who wants to take the position of Building Permit Officer/Inspector as one of our colleagues is going for further education.

Job Responsibilities
As a Building Permit Officer/Inspector, you will become a key person in our work to ensure that the Planning and Building Act is followed. You will work with all recurring tasks within the building group. Processing building permits, notification cases, pre-decisions, and coastal protection issues, as well as supervision cases.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Processing permits, notification cases, pre-decisions, and coastal protection.
- Conducting technical consultations, site visits, and final consultations.
- Writing decisions, statements, and service reports with proposals to the Environmental and Community Planning Committee.
- Providing service and information to the municipality's residents and business operators.
- Processing supervision cases according to the Planning and Building Act and the Environmental Code (coastal protection).
- Supervision visits and investigations regarding illegal buildings, dwellings, unmaintained plots and buildings, and easily remedied obstacles.
You work both independently and together with colleagues in a team where we support each other and value clear and simple communication.
Qualifications and Merits
We are looking for you who want to contribute with both competence and engagement. You have:
- A degree as a building permit officer/building inspector.
- Experience working in a politically governed organization/municipal operations.
- Experience processing permit and notification cases according to the Planning and Building Act.
- Good familiarity with working in digital environments.
- Very good knowledge of Swedish, both orally and in writing.
- Category B driver's license.
Desirable qualifications:
- Experience with the diary system EDP Vision.
- Knowledge of the Environmental Code.
- Knowledge of processing supervision cases is desirable.
