About Defence Health
Defence Health is the Swedish Armed Forces' internal occupational health service and is located in all garrison towns in the country. We are a resource for both employers and employees. Defence Health works with health-promoting measures, statutory examinations, work-oriented rehabilitation, medical assessments, and healthcare for conscripts.
Defence Health is an integrated part of the units' combined efforts. At Defence Health, we work together in teams consisting of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, occupational health and safety engineers, and medical secretaries. As an Occupational Health and Safety Engineer at Defence Health at Dalregementet, you will work in an exciting and varied environment where teamwork with Defence Health's cross-professional workforce is an important part of the job.
Main Responsibilities
- Work with systematic occupational health and safety work together with other functions in various forums.
- Conduct mapping and investigations of chemical health risks, noise, vibrations, lighting, and ventilation.
- Perform measurements and risk assessments of physical and chemical exposures.
- Provide advice and issue instructions for adaptations during the reconstruction and new construction of workplaces regarding climate, noise, ventilation, lighting, and exposure to occupational health and safety risks.
- Participate in risk assessments.
- Be familiar with current laws and regulations within occupational health and safety.
- Educate and provide counseling at the organizational, group, and individual levels.
- Participate in the garrison's network within occupational health and safety.
- Have authority contact and participate in inspections.
Qualifications
- Approved and documented education as an Occupational Health and Safety Engineer.
- Experience with occupational hygiene measurements.
- Experience from occupational health services.
- Experience in performing risk assessments.
- Theoretical and practical experience in educational initiatives for different professional categories.
- Good computer skills.
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Manual B driver's license.

Other Information
Employment type: Civil position, permanent employment starting with a 6-month probationary period.
Employment level: Full-time
Working hours: 40 hours/week daytime Monday–Friday with flexible working hours agreement.
Work location: Falun, but service at other locations may occur, as well as business travel, participation in training, and exercises in the wartime organization.
Estimated start date: By agreement.
Salary: Individual salary setting applies within the framework of the Swedish Armed Forces' salary policy.

Information about the Swedish Armed Forces and the recruiting unit
Dalregementet is one of the Swedish Armed Forces' new-old units with origins dating back to 1625. The regiment was re-established in 2021 following a decision by the Riksdag. Our operations are based in Falun, and we will contribute to the training of soldiers who build the future infantry units/Army.
