Your new workplace

The Individual and Labor Market Administration (IAF) works to strengthen individuals' opportunities for independence through interventions within individual and family care, the labor market, and adult education. The administration is divided into four areas of operation: Work and Sustainment, Children, Youth and Family, Substance Abuse and Mental Illness, and Adult Education. Within the Work and Sustainment area, we have a clear focus on providing residents with the support they need to become self-sufficient. One of our greatest strengths is our cross-professional approach, where social secretaries, employment counselors, and staff at work training arenas collaborate closely around each participant to create the best possible conditions for individual development.

In light of the new activity requirement, the Labor Market Unit is now developing operations by launching "Balansverkstan" (The Balance Workshop), a new pre-rehabilitative work training arena. Balansverkstan is to offer meaningful tasks and individually adapted support for people who are far from the labor market and need to strengthen their work capacity for the next step towards work or studies. As part of this initiative, a sewing and reuse operation is also being developed with the mission to repair, adapt, and extend the lifespan of Sundsvall Municipality's workwear. The operation combines sustainability and circular economy with work training, giving participants the opportunity to develop work capacity, vocational skills, and work habits in a safe and structured environment. This position therefore offers a unique opportunity to help build a new operation from the ground up, develop methods and routines, and create an inspiring and high-quality sewing operation that contributes to both participant development and the municipality's sustainability work.

How you contribute as a Team Leader

The Team Leader is responsible for planning, organizing, and developing daily operations within the sewing arena. Duties include, among other things:

• Supervise participants in work training based on individual conditions.
• Plan and distribute tasks.
• Repair, adapt, and quality-assure workwear.
• Introduce participants to work tasks and machinery.
• Ensure a safe and secure working environment.
• Be responsible for materials, orders, and basic inventory management.
• Provide feedback on participants' progress according to operational routines.
• Collaborate with other team leaders, work coaches, and employment counselors within the Labor Market Unit.
• Contribute to the development of new methods and routines within the operation.

Your qualifications and experience

You have post-secondary education in textiles, sewing, fashion design, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. It is an advantage if you have pedagogical training, training in team leadership or supervision, as well as training in sustainable textiles, reuse, or circular economy.

You have several years of experience in professional sewing. Experience in repairing and adapting textile products. Good familiarity with industrial sewing machines and various sewing techniques. Experience in reading and working from work instructions and patterns. Experience in supervising, introducing, or training others. It is an advantage if you have experience in team leadership or coordination, reuse and textile sustainability, manufacturing industry, or work within labor market, rehabilitation, or social services.

Salary: Monthly/hourly wage. Individual and differentiated salary setting applies.

Terms: Salary benefits beyond the monthly wage follow the applicable collective agreement. Central collective agreements can be found on the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions website, www.skr.se
