We are looking for a driven and technically interested engineer for a consultancy assignment via Lernia in Uppsala. The position is a consultancy assignment via Lernia. The assignment is full-time with the possibility of extension for the right person.

About the role

As an Engineer - Automation IT/OT, you will work with the design, implementation, and support of automated systems and integration solutions between operational technology (OT) and IT environments. You will participate in projects to improve operational security, cybersecurity, and data flows, and support production and development in troubleshooting and improvement initiatives.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Design and implementation of control and monitoring systems (PLC/SCADA/DCS) as well as integration with IT systems
• Commissioning, configuration, and testing of automation solutions in pilot and production environments
• Development and updating of documentation such as system descriptions, network diagrams, work instructions, and operator manuals
• Monitoring and troubleshooting of automation and communication interfaces, as well as initiating corrective actions
• Collaboration with IT, production, maintenance, and suppliers to ensure secure and robust solutions
• Conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity principles for OT environments
• Participation in project planning, follow-up, and continuous improvement work

About you

Formal qualifications

• University degree in technology or equivalent experience within automation, control engineering, computer science, power engineering, or a related field
• Several years of experience working with industrial automation, IT/OT integration, or operation of process or manufacturing plants
• Proficiency in PLC programming and/or SCADA/DCS systems as well as protocols such as OPC-UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, or similar
• Experience with network architecture for industrial environments and a basic understanding of cybersecurity in OT
• Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both verbal and written

Meritorious

It is meritorious if you have experience with:

• Automation and control systems, such as ABB 800xA and Siemens PLC
• System integration between production, control, and business systems
• MES and industrial information systems, such as PAS-X and AVEVA PI
• OT management and lifecycle management of industrial systems
• Project management or coordination of activities in cross-functional project teams
• Production within the Life Science or pharmaceutical industry
