At the City Mission, we meet people in vulnerable life situations every day. Now we are looking for you who want to make a real difference.
Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of young people? At our unit Children and Youth in Linköping, you as a social pedagogue will have the chance to be a positive force for children, young people, and young adults. You will work with the personal development of young people, meaningful leisure activities, and meeting places for youth self-organization. We offer a dynamic workplace with meaningful tasks, engaged colleagues, and a welcoming climate. Together we create a more humane society!
Your role with us
As a social pedagogue, you work with the goal of promoting the target group's personal development, creating positive attachments, offering meaningful leisure time, and opportunities for work or employment. You help create meeting places for community and youth organizing, and work with individual coaching to strengthen protective factors. You are responsible for coordinating and implementing various measures within our operations, conducting coaching conversations, and leading young leaders and volunteers. You work in groups and with individual participant processes, from implementation plans and activities to change work and evaluation.
Who are you?
You are a person who easily creates contact, builds trust, and forms sustainable relationships regardless of people's background or life situation. Your communicative skills and social presence allow you to quickly establish alliances and security in encounters with young people. You have a solution-focused approach and see opportunities where others see obstacles. With strong drive and a flexible attitude, you take on challenges, both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues, volunteers, and external actors. You thrive in a role where you can combine practical work with reflection and development, and you share the City Mission's values where every person has the right to respect, participation, and a meaningful future.
We are looking for you who have:
- Education from a University College of Applied Sciences, such as social pedagogue or support pedagogue.
- Experience working with young people in social issues and vulnerable life situations.
- Experience with motivational/coaching conversations to achieve set goals.
- Valid driver's license (Category B).
It is an advantage if you have language and cultural competence for working in socio-economically vulnerable areas.
We see diversity as a strength and therefore welcome applicants with different backgrounds. We place great emphasis on the personal match.

We want you to feel good and develop with us. Therefore, we offer secure conditions through collective agreements, extra favorable holidays, and wellness benefits, close leadership, and a work environment with strong collegial support.
