The Business Area (VO) for Infectious Diseases at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) operates in both Lund and Malmö, responsible for patients with infectious diseases and immunodeficiency disorders. There is one department in Lund and two departments in Malmö. Reception and needle exchange services are available in both Lund and Malmö, along with an administrative unit.

Research is also conducted at the clinics, initiated by both companies and employees within the business area. The Infectious Disease Clinic in Malmö is now seeking a Research Nurse for duties at both the research unit and the clinic. There is already a nurse with research responsibilities at the clinic, so you will not be alone but will have a colleague in research.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse with research responsibilities, you are expected to take overall responsibility for the studies conducted at the section, which includes both clinical trials and research studies. You will plan and prioritize together with the responsible physician and ensure that logistics function smoothly. You will collaborate with pharmaceutical companies, doctors, and researchers at the clinic, as well as students, and independently plan, book, and perform work/reception activities according to the protocols of the various studies. The duties also include sampling, medication management, sample preparation in the laboratory, and handling external data programs specific to clinical studies. Administrative tasks related to, for example, biobanks and meetings with pharmaceutical companies are also part of the job. You are responsible for financial management and invoicing of compensation in connection with clinical studies. You will be the central hub and considered a very important person for all research within the business area.

At the clinic, the duties consist of nurse-led reception for different diagnostic groups and telephone advice. There are both scheduled and some emergency receptions for adults. Here you will meet patients with hepatitis, HIV, tuberculosis, MRSA, tropical infections, and not least acute infectious diseases such as Covid-19, sepsis, pneumonia, and influenza. The distribution of work between research and reception duties is allocated according to need.

The position involves a combined role with weekend shifts at one of our infectious disease departments in Malmö.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply are a licensed nurse with eligibility to work within Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish at a minimum level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of English as some of the instructions and materials in the studies are in English. We would appreciate it if you had a few years of work experience and/or further education as a research nurse, for example, completed and approved GCP training.
