Your future challenge

At the SIL department, we integrate software, hardware, and third-party systems, and verify software-based functions in our vehicle systems. The department is responsible for creating and executing test cases, building test benches/test equipment, and implementing simulations in our test environments. Our verification is performed in everything from simulated environments, on our test benches, and directly in our vehicles.

We are now looking for a test engineer for our group responsible for our test benches.

In this role, you primarily work with the creation and maintenance of test environments. The work is a mix of practical work with test benches and testing functions on the test bench. Typical tasks include:

• Testing software, electronics, and electrical systems in test benches and in vehicles
• Building and maintaining test benches, installing new systems, ordering new hardware to be integrated on the test bench. Creating cabling and test boxes for test environments.
• Planning maintenance and technical upgrades on test benches, timing for when certain systems are delivered and installed on the bench
• Troubleshooting test environments as needed to understand if problems are related to the test environment or software
• Reviewing change orders and assessing whether and when changes should be implemented in test environments
• Documenting and maintaining the configuration of the test environments

The work is performed in project form, and you collaborate closely with test leaders, automated testers, and test designers during the development work.

An important part of the work is identifying challenges and communicating with other stakeholders, e.g., procurement, software, electrical systems.

The person you are

You have a good technical understanding and are motivated by understanding the functions in our systems and how they interact with each other. Perhaps you have studied electronics or mechanics.

You like to work practically, installing hardware, or manufacturing cabling and test boxes needed for the test environment.

You have previous experience in either electronics, electrical systems, or maintenance of test environments. Experience with Simulink or Vector software packages, e.g., CANoe, is meritorious but not a requirement.

As a person, you have strong self-drive and an interest in technology, are meticulous, and take responsibility. You have an eye for detail, enjoy logic and problem-solving, and practical work. You have good collaboration and communication skills and are a team player who wants to help drive our work forward.

Good knowledge of Swedish and English is required.
