We are looking for a University Lecturer in Informatics for a permanent position at the School of Business, Economics and Law at Örebro University.
Subject Area
The subject area for the position is Informatics.
Background
The School of Business, Economics and Law at Örebro University is a place where education and research are conducted in the four subjects of Business Administration, Informatics, Economics, and Statistics. We are accredited by AACSB, the largest global accrediting body and network for business schools. Only five percent of the world's 16,000 business schools have achieved this status.
The Informatics department, with 20 employees, is seeking a University Lecturer who can teach on both of our programs and contribute to our research. The department currently offers education within the Systems Science program and the Master's program in Informatics – with a specialization in the management and control of information security. The Systems Science program aims to train IT consultants who can integrate business and software development. Students are therefore trained in a number of different business and system development methods as well as software development environments to give them broad knowledge in system development. The international Master's program aims to train individuals for leadership positions in information security. Students are trained in managing information security through administrative, social, and technical measures. Both programs offer opportunities for practical/workplace-based education.
Informatics conducts research within the research environment Centre for Empirical Research on Information Systems (CERIS). CERIS conducts research on the digitalization of organizations and society from four main themes: Human aspects of information security, Management and control of system development, Informatics education, and Health and well-being. Research is usually conducted in collaboration with companies or authorities – practice-based research is central. The department also offers a doctoral education program.
Job Responsibilities
As a University Lecturer, you will devote your working time to teaching at all levels and research, as well as related collaboration. In addition to teaching, research, and collaboration, the job responsibilities include development work, administration, and competence development. Teaching also includes supervision, examination, course development, planning, and evaluation.
In addition to teaching on both the Systems Science program and the Master's program in Informatics with a specialization in the management and control of information security, work within the doctoral education may also be included. The job responsibilities also include applying for external research funding and following developments within the subject area through competence development and own research.
