Do you want to develop technical solutions used in airports and ports around the world?

FMT has over 50 years of experience developing and manufacturing passenger boarding bridges for airports and solutions for ports. Here, you become part of an experienced engineering team where production is located right next to the office, giving you the opportunity to follow your designs all the way from idea to finished product. We are now looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who wants to develop in a broad role with significant personal responsibility and the opportunity to influence both products and working methods. About the role You will become part of our engineering team and work closely with colleagues in engineering, production, purchasing, sales, and project management. The role involves being involved throughout the entire project – from understanding customer needs and developing technical solutions to supporting production and following up on installation at the customer site. The work is varied and includes both design work and technical problem-solving. Many of the challenges involve finding smart and sustainable solutions to everyday technical problems as well as adapting products based on customer requests. Your responsibilities

  • Create design drawings for welded structures and mechanical details.
  • Perform technical calculations and sizing.
  • Create drawings, bills of materials (BoM), and technical documentation.
  • Participate in project planning and preparation.
  • Be involved in technical solutions based on customer needs.
  • Contribute technical input to calculations and pricing.
  • Provide technical support to production and contribute to continuous improvements.
We are looking for someone who
  • Has a university degree or civil engineer degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Has approximately 2–3 years of experience in mechanical design.
  • Has experience working in a 3D CAD system. Experience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD 2D, and PLM system Vault is advantageous.
  • Has good technical understanding of mechanical design, strength, and materials.
  • Speaks and writes fluently in Swedish and English.
  • Has a valid driver's license (Category B).
It is an advantage if you have experience with
  • Hydraulics.
  • Electrical or control systems.
  • Material knowledge.
  • Welded structures.
  • Manufacturing industry or other practical technical background.
Who are you?

We believe you are a technically curious and responsible person who enjoys solving problems and turning ideas into working solutions. You are quality-conscious, structured when necessary, and able to drive your work forward independently. At the same time, you are flexible and thrive in a business where everyone helps each other out and where one day is rarely like the next. You are unpretentious and contribute to a positive team spirit. You communicate well with people around you and find it easy to collaborate with production, project management, and other technical functions. We also believe that you appreciate working in a smaller organization where decision-making paths are short and where you have the opportunity to take responsibility and make an impact. Why FMT? At FMT, you have the opportunity to develop both as an engineer and as a person. There is no ready-made template for how your career should look here. Instead, you get significant personal responsibility and the opportunity to build your own path. If you have drive and a desire to develop, there are good opportunities to grow together with the company. We are in a development phase where we are working on developing our working methods and creating even better structure. This means you will have the opportunity to influence and contribute your ideas while working together with experienced colleagues. With us, you get:

  • A broad and varied engineering role.
  • The opportunity to follow your designs from idea to finished installation.
  • Work close to production and quickly see the results of your work.
  • Significant personal responsibility and opportunity to influence.
  • A workplace where collaboration, lack of pretension, and team spirit are highly valued.
  • Good opportunities to develop and grow within the company.

Do you want to help develop tomorrow's solutions together with us? Then we look forward to receiving your application! We hope you understand that the recruitment process may take a little longer during the summer. Please send in your application as soon as possible, as the position may be filled before the final application deadline.
