About the role

VA Gruppen is a leading water and wastewater company in southern Sweden and Stockholm, and has been part of VA Nordic since 2021 – an expanding group within water and wastewater technology with approximately 250 employees and a turnover of 900 MSEK. The organization is structured to take total holistic responsibility for complete water and wastewater needs, with the goal of always securing clean water and functioning wastewater and stormwater systems.

As an Estimator/Contracting Engineer, you are offered a central role with great freedom under responsibility. The position involves overall responsibility for producing winning and accurate tender calculations, acting as the crucial link between the market and production. Here, you work both independently and in close collaboration with site managers and procurement to ensure that the business calculates correctly, smartly, and strategically for the long term.

Responsibilities

In this role, you lead the calculation work from early stages to the finished tender, ensuring that all economic and technical aspects are optimized for project success. This implies a broad and responsible assignment where the focus lies on:

• Driving the entire tender process – from analyzing request documents to the final tender.
• Preparing accurate quantity calculations, pricing, and overhead cost estimates.
• Identifying risks and opportunities in projects and performing cost optimization.
• Soliciting and evaluating quotes from subcontractors and material suppliers.
• Handing over won projects to production and following up on calculated estimates against actual outcomes to continuously improve the company's key performance indicators.
• Keeping up to date with market prices, production methods, and new technical solutions.
• Supporting other companies within the group with calculations and reference material.

We are looking for you who

• Have experience as an estimator within Water & Wastewater (VA) and/or Earthworks & Infrastructure, or alternatively a background as a site manager/foreman with a strong interest in estimation.
• Have good knowledge of contracting law, e.g., AMA, MER, LUF, and LOU.
• Are analytical, business-minded, and have a good understanding of production flows.
• Are computer literate and have experience with calculation software.
• Are communicative, structured, and thrive working towards deadlines.
• Fluently speak and write Swedish.
• Hold a valid driver's license (Category B).

It is meritorious if you have

• Experience with specific programs such as MAP, Bidcon, Bluebeam, or similar.
• Previous experience in production in the role of foreman or site manager.
