Technical Unit in Helsingborg Parish is looking for a Grave Digger

The Cemetery Administration in Helsingborg is responsible for the operation of eight cemeteries covering a total area of 40 hectares within Helsingborg, divided into three districts – north, center, and south. We have approximately 80 employees at the Cemetery Administration and are now looking for a Grave Digger.

As a Grave Digger, you will belong to the Technical Unit, which is based in the natural surroundings of Pålsjö Cemetery. The Technical Unit is a small team of nine people characterized by an open atmosphere, mutual respect, and good collaboration both within and outside the group. In the team, you will have colleagues working as construction workers, transporters, lawn mowers, and machine repairers. Together, the unit is responsible for servicing all cemeteries within the administration.

Job Responsibilities

The main tasks involve digging and restoring graves, as well as safely moving excavated soil to and from the digging site. You will also service and maintain the fleet of machines and equipment, perform construction work when reclaiming grave plots, and carry out minor construction tasks such as adjusting stone stairs, railings, walls, etc. Additionally, securing gravestones is part of the role.

Other potential tasks include lawn mowing, internal transport, and other duties that arise within the Technical Unit.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a vocational upper secondary or post-secondary education in machine operation, or equivalent experience gained through working life. Taking great responsibility is a given, as is the willingness to solve problems in the best possible way. You are flexible and positive about helping out, even in other areas of work, curious, and interested in new knowledge. Order and cleanliness at the workplace are a matter of course for you.

A license for wheel loaders and excavators is meritorious.

A manual B-driver's license is a requirement.

A BE-driver's license is meritorious.
