Your next challenge

At Nexer in Linköping, we are now looking for an experienced PLC and Automation Engineer who wants to work on programming and customizing autonomous industrial vehicles.

Our clients are found in industries such as manufacturing, defense, and other technology-intensive operations where automation and smart logistics solutions play an increasingly important role. Here, you will work with advanced control systems where you combine PLC programming, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving to create customized solutions that work in reality.

As a consultant with us, you become part of a team with high competence and great engagement. You work on varied assignments with different clients, combining automation, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving in close collaboration with production, maintenance, and development. This role suits you if you enjoy immersing yourself in new environments, building relationships, and creating value through robust and customized solutions for autonomous industrial vehicles.

Examples of assignments

You may, among other things, work on:

• Programming and customizing PLC-based control systems for autonomous industrial vehicles

• Adapting functions and logic based on the client's operations and needs

• Troubleshooting and analyzing the interaction between sensors, motors, control systems, and PLC logic

• Testing, verifying, and commissioning autonomous industrial vehicles

• Working closely with electricians, mechanical engineers, and automation engineers

• Optimizing function, operational safety, and performance in existing solutions

• Contributing to the further development and improvement of automation solutions

We believe that you

...like technology, but also the consultant role. You enjoy immersing yourself in new operations, building relationships, and helping various clients find sustainable solutions. Whether you are a specialist in one area or have a broad technical profile, you are driven to develop together with both clients and colleagues.

You also have:

• Experience with PLC programming, such as Structured Text, FBD, or Ladder

• Experience working close to hardware and in production-oriented environments

• Very good troubleshooting skills in electrical, control, and automation

• Experience with commissioning and practical testing

• Ability to read electrical diagrams and understand how automation systems are structured

It is an advantage if you also have experience with:

• Fieldbuses and industrial networks

• Machine safety and safety functions

• Programming or customization of mobile automation solutions, AGVs, or similar systems

The role requires that you can communicate fluently in both Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing. This is an important prerequisite for succeeding in client dialogues and in collaboration with the team.

Since the role involves consulting assignments with different clients, we also see that you enjoy working in varied environments. Travel occurs in some assignments, so it is an advantage if you are comfortable with a certain amount of travel.

You appreciate collaboration with other technical areas and enjoy translating client needs into stable and well-functioning automation solutions.
