The Food Services Unit is part of the Community Development Administration. Within the Food Services Unit, there is well-educated and dedicated staff who work to serve good, nutritious, and varied meals to the municipality's primary schools, preschools, care and nursing units, and the upper secondary school. In total, we have approximately 125 employees. A meal has several purposes; it should meet our needs for nutrition and enjoyment, but the social interaction around the meal is also important. The Food Services Unit works to ensure that the food is of good quality, varied, and that the guest receives a friendly welcome and can eat in a pleasant environment.

Within the Food Services Unit, there are 6 production kitchens and 14 receiving kitchens belonging to schools, and 17 production kitchens and 8 receiving kitchens belonging to preschools. Within the elderly care, there are 2 production kitchens.

We are looking for a cook for the kitchen at Halleberg who is passionate about cooking and service towards meals in preschools.

• Meet our customers' requirements and wishes for agreed services. Our target group is elderly care, schools, and preschools.
• We work to ensure that meals are safe, sustainable, and climate-smart.

Tasks included in the position

You work independently in the kitchen and are therefore active in all parts of kitchen work. In daily work, you should contribute to ensuring that guidelines are followed and set goals are met.

• Preparation and serving of meals, standard diet, and individualized meals.
• Responsibility for production and purchasing planning.
• Goods receiving, dishwashing, and cleaning.
• Execution and documentation of the unit's self-control.
• Documentation of the number of diners and food waste in digital systems.
• Work in the food data system Mateo.

Qualifications

You must have completed the upper secondary school's restaurant and food program or adult education assessed as equivalent. Alternatively, you have completed a validation (or journeyman's certificate) that can verify knowledge equivalent to the above. You must have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as computer skills. Knowledge of special diets is meritorious.

Work experience needed for the job

• Experience as a cook in a large kitchen.

Information

Before employment as a cook, a certificate of good conduct is required according to the School Act (2010:800). You request a certificate on polisen.se which is then shown before employment takes place.

Even administrative staff, cleaners, school caretakers, and kitchen staff must show a certificate of good conduct before employment.

The position is a permanent position (holiday cover) and the work is scheduled during daytime Monday to Friday.

A succession position may become relevant.

Start date 2026-09-01 or by agreement.

Any questions about the position will not be answered during week 28-30 due to vacation leave.
