About the role
Nord-Lock is a global industrial group with operations in several countries around the world. The company is a market leader in solutions for secure screw connections and delivers products to customers in sectors such as energy, infrastructure, manufacturing industry, and transport. In Mattmar, one of the group's important production and development units is located, where innovation, quality, and technical expertise are in focus.
As a Process and Development Engineer, you will become part of the Product & Process Development department, where you work at the intersection of product and process. The role has a strong analytical focus and involves working to understand, analyze, and improve the interaction between materials, products, and manufacturing processes.
You will be employed as a consultant by Academic Work and work on behalf of Nord-Lock. The assignment is long-term, and for the right person, there are good opportunities for continued development within the company.

Responsibilities
In the role of Process and Development Engineer, you will work with analyzing, developing, and optimizing both products and manufacturing processes in Nord-Lock's production environment. You play a key role in ensuring quality, robustness, and efficiency in process flows, as well as driving improvements based on technical analysis.
You will primarily:
- Work with process and product development
- Perform root cause analyses and drive problem-solving in complex process flows
- Analyze material and process behaviors related to manufacturing
- Support the introduction of new products and production processes
- Work with material-related processes such as hardening and coating
- Handle and follow up on deviations and customer complaints from a process perspective
- Support production through technical analysis, troubleshooting, and improvement work in existing processes
We are looking for you who:
- Have a university degree or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or similar
- Have good knowledge of materials science
- Have good proficiency in Swedish and English, as this is required in daily work
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience working in manufacturing industry
- Experience with quality follow-up and root cause analyses
- Experience working in ERP and PLM systems
