At the Health and Care Administration, we are today approximately 1,400 employees who, with our combined knowledge and professional experience, provide care and healthcare to the residents of Alingsås in their homes or in our residential facilities. The Authority Department is divided into two units, where one group handles cases according to the Social Services Act primarily targeting the elderly. The other group handles cases according to the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disability Groups (LSS) and cases according to the Social Services Act (SoL). Here, we have more than 25 social secretaries, one contact person handler, two who handle applications for housing adaptation grants, one social administrator, three senior social secretaries, and two unit managers.

WORK ASSIGNMENTS

As a Social Secretary within SoL for people over 65, you work with our aging population, where you investigate, assess, and make decisions according to the Social Services Act (SoL).

You will primarily work as a caseworker for the area but may also perform tasks such as follow-up of short-term decisions and holding coordination meetings with hospitals when needed.

The work as a Social Secretary within the authority unit is varied and requires both structure and the ability to meet people in different life situations. In your work, you will follow up on approved measures, contact the individual, relatives, guardians, and collaborating partners. You ensure legally secure processing and good quality. To thrive with us, we believe you have a genuine commitment to the target group and a positive view of people. You are interested in legislation in the area and have analytical thinking and can structure your work in a varied daily routine. The position requires that you can work both individually and in a group, and have the ability to collaborate with other parties both within and outside the administration.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

  • Social work degree or other relevant education
  • Category B driver's license
  • Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing

  • Experience of authority exercise or work within SoL and/or LSS.
