Support Pedagogue at Gjutaren
About the Workplace
Do you want to help create a safe, developmental, and meaningful daily life for individuals with special needs?
Hjo Municipality – the small municipality with the big heart – is beautifully located by the shores of Lake Vättern and is one of Sweden's three preserved wooden towns. Here, we work together to create good living conditions for our residents through quality, collaboration, and meaningful encounters.
Within Hjo Municipality's LSS (Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) operations, Gjutaren is one of two group homes where we together create a safe, meaningful, and developmental daily life for people with disabilities.
At our group homes, each resident has their own apartment and access to common areas where social community and activities are central. With the support of engaged staff, residents receive individually adapted help based on their needs – from care and daily chores to leisure activities and participation in society.
We work with a person-centered and pedagogical approach where the goal is to strengthen each individual's independence, participation, and quality of life. Together, we create a safe environment where both residents and staff have the opportunity to develop.
About the Role
As a support pedagogue, you play a key role in creating structure, participation, and development for the people living in the group home. You work closely with the users in daily operations and contribute to developing the organization's pedagogical methods.
You act as a support to the work group by contributing your pedagogical competence and ensuring that the work is based on the individual's needs, prerequisites, and goals. Together, you work to create a safe environment where every individual is given the opportunity to develop and participate.
The role includes, among other things:
- planning, implementing, and following up on interventions
- supporting and guiding colleagues in various matters
- working with individual implementation plans and documentation
- working on user participation, collaborating with relatives, guardians, trustees, and other partners
- contributing to the development and quality work of the operation
- working from a low-affective and professional approach
Qualifications
We are looking for you who:
- have completed education as a support pedagogue (400 YH credits) or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
- have experience working with individuals in need of special support
- have good computer skills
- have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
- have a B driving license
Experience of working within LSS is an advantage.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability. To thrive in this role, we believe you are secure, responsible, and have a genuine interest in supporting people in their development. You are structured, have good collaboration skills, and see opportunities even in challenging situations.
