This is a role for you who thrives when you get to influence and drive the business forward together with others. We welcome your application!
Your day-to-day life with us
At Norrmejerier, we process the Northern Swedish milk raw material into a wide range of world-class dairy products.
As Category Manager for Strategic Purchasing, you play a central role in our purchasing work, focusing on inputs, raw material optimization, and indirect materials. You are responsible for driving the categories in a business-like manner, with primary focus on identifying and implementing cost optimizations, creating value, and managing risks in the supply chain.
You work independently on both strategic and operational issues. To succeed in this role, you need to enjoy building and developing good relationships. You will collaborate closely with both colleagues and suppliers, which places high demands on social competence, teamwork, and clear communication.
You will become an important part of developing our business, commercial tenders, strengthening supplier relationships, and identifying new market opportunities – always with sustainability and long-term perspective in focus.
Examples of responsibilities:
- Drive and develop purchasing work and our processes in line with the company's overall goals and strategies
- Overall category responsibility for inputs and indirect materials
- Identify and realize cost savings and take value-creating initiatives
- Responsible for supplier development, follow-up, and risk management
- Develop existing supplier collaborations and identify new business opportunities
- Ensure compliance with quality, sustainability, and regulatory requirements
- Work with cost optimization and material analysis
- Participate in and drive development projects
- Conduct supplier assessments
- Keep yourself well-informed and have an understanding of the market and its development
- Lead negotiations and draw up and enter into agreements
- Monitor Norrmejerier's commercial interests in CAPEX tenders
Who are you?
We are looking for you who have relevant higher education in economics, engineering, purchasing, law, or equivalent work experience. You have documented multi-year experience in negotiation and contract work. It is meritorious if you have experience in category management of purchasing work, leadership skills/experience, or project management.
You are a person who combines business acumen and analytical ability with energy, curiosity, and a strong drive forward. You are a humble team player who likes to build relationships, sees opportunities in change, and is motivated by creating results together with others. You are goal-oriented and proactive, and in a structured and careful way, you lead yourself and others. Your planning skills are important; you are analytical and driven by creating good business. Being able to look up and work with both a long-term horizon and handle daily management to achieve results are skills that are important in the role.
As a person, it is important that you are attracted to and live our values for employee relations.
You handle and convey information in a simple and easy-to-understand way, orally and in writing, in both Swedish and English, both internally and externally.
