Description

The Office of Teacher Education serves as a common and cohesive administrative resource for the university's teacher education programs. The division supports the Dean in leading the university's teacher education, related research, and collaboration within the teacher education field. The office prepares cases for the Teacher Education Board (LUN) and its various committees, and provides support to departments, program directors, teacher educators, and teacher students. The office is also responsible for handling VFU (Practice and Professional Development) cases, as well as student admissions and study planning in accordance with the VAL Ordinance.

Further Education for Teachers (VAL) is a complementary education program aimed at professionals in preschool and school who do not yet have a relevant degree. It is a government mandate regulated by a specific ordinance and shared with seven other higher education institutions. The mandate focuses on increasing the proportion of qualified preschool teachers and teachers.

We are now looking for an Education Administrator to work with study planning, case handling, guidance, and study administrative tasks within the VAL mandate.

Responsibilities

As an Education Administrator in VAL, you will become part of a local and national team that works creatively, solution-oriented, and positively on new assignments.

In your work, you will conduct eligibility assessments and study planning for applicants, handle cases, and provide qualified guidance to prospective and current students. Handling and planning are carried out in various study administrative systems. Administrative and editorial tasks are also included.

The work involves many internal and external contacts and representing VAL in various contexts.

The tasks vary from day to day and throughout the year. You have great freedom in how you organize your daily work, in consultation with your team colleagues. This also means you must be able to plan and prioritize among the wide range of tasks.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a relevant academic degree or equivalent. Current experience in study administrative work from higher education/university, as well as experience with NyA, LADOK, and Canvas, is meritorious. It is particularly meritorious if you have worked with admissions, study guidance, and course administration for teacher education.

To succeed in the role, you need the ability to understand, interpret, and apply the regulations governing admissions, eligibility assessment, credit recognition, and graduation. You must be able to independently investigate, assess, and handle cases based on current regulations. The role involves many contacts, which requires you to be service-oriented, communicative, and collaborative. You are structured, detail-oriented, and solution-oriented, taking responsibility for driving your work forward in a qualitative manner. You express yourself very well in speech and writing in Swedish and have good ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.

Conditions

The employment is fixed-term and covers 50 percent of full-time. Start date is September 1, 2026, or as agreed. The employment is valid until July 31, 2027, with the possibility of extension.
