Now you have the opportunity to make a difference for children's future as we are looking for a School Nurse this autumn! The position is permanent and has a scope of 80%.

Bjurslättsskolan is a primary school with approximately 630 students located in the heart of Lundby, near Wieselgrensplatsen. Here, preschool class, after-school care, primary school, and adapted primary school work closely together to create a holistic environment for the students. The school has students from preschool class to grade 6.

Responsibilities

We welcome you to our school, which aims to make a difference for children's future, and offer you independent and developmental work. As a School Nurse within the Primary School Administration, you are part of the Student Health Service's Medical Intervention (EMI). You work independently and collaborate with the school's staff and management based on the guidelines found in the Health and Medical Services Act, the Education Act, guidance for the student health service, and the City of Gothenburg's Method Support. You primarily work health-promoting and preventive, contributing your nursing competence to create the best possible conditions for the student's health, development, and learning.

In your role as a school nurse, you implement the student health service's medical intervention according to laws, regulations, and guidelines, which includes health conversations, reception work, health examinations, documentation, and administration. It also includes offering and administering vaccinations in accordance with the Swedish vaccination program. Working with newly arrived students is part of the service within a student health team. The health conversations are then compiled, and the student health service can work further with this at the group and organizational level. The school nurse is responsible for organizing and planning their own and the school doctor's reception work during the school year.

As a school nurse in the City of Gothenburg, you are offered professional meetings with other school nurses in the area, led by the medically responsible school nurse (MLA). You are offered introductory training and access to a mentor during the introduction period. School nurses receive profession-specific competence development and have the opportunity for regular supervision. The City of Gothenburg collaborates with universities in the vicinity, and school nurses are offered the opportunity to supervise VFU students studying on one of the approved advanced educations for school nurses.

With us, you also become part of the student health service. At Bjurslättsskolan, the student health team consists of the principal, 3 assistant principals, 2 school nurses, 3 special education teachers, 2 school counselors, and 1 school psychologist.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are both a registered nurse and specialized. Approved advanced educations are: District Nurse, Child and Adolescent Nurse, and School Nurse. Meritorious is experience working as a school nurse, working with children and adolescents, as well as good computer skills and knowledge of PMO and/or equivalent documentation systems.

As a School Nurse in the school arena, you are secure, responsible, and flexible. You have an easy time building relationships and see development opportunities in everyone. We want you to be a meticulous person with good planning and organizational skills. Since the work involves close contact with the school's students and also many contacts with guardians, external healthcare providers, and authorities outside the school, it is important that you are good at communicating, motivating, and inspiring.
