We are now recruiting a part-time adjunct professor in legal science to complement and develop the educational environment at the Department of Legal Science in Kalmar. We are looking for you who want to be present in Kalmar and, through collaboration, contribute to building a complete academic environment within law and legal science, making an impact both within and outside the university world. The Department of Legal Science is organizationally part of the Faculty of Social Sciences and currently has about 15 full-time employees. Research and doctoral education are conducted at the department in areas such as European law, constitutional law, and civil law, and our largest educational effort takes place within the framework of our Bachelor's program in legal science in Kalmar.
Subject area for the position: Legal Science
Location (permanent): Kalmar.
Since Linnaeus University is located in both Växjö and Kalmar, travel between locations may occur.
Employment extent: Fixed-term appointment, with a part-time degree corresponding to 50% of full-time or as agreed.
Start date: Start date as agreed. Normally, a probationary period applies.
Job description:
The duties include handling education and pedagogical development work as well as administrative work. A teacher's tasks also include following developments within their own subject area and general societal development that is significant for the teacher's work at the university.
The duties consist concretely of planning, developing, and implementing teaching as well as administering courses.
The position is open to different legal science orientations, such as public law and civil law in a broad sense.
Qualifications
Eligible for appointment as an adjunct professor is someone who has demonstrated pedagogical skill and has completed a law degree, a master's degree in law/legal science, or a corresponding relevant subject area. With corresponding competence is generally meant a degree from a foreign university with essentially the same level and quality as a Swedish master's degree in legal science.
Ability to teach in Swedish is required.
Evaluation criteria
As evaluation criteria for the appointment of a university adjunct professor, the degree of skill that is a requirement for eligibility for appointment shall apply.
In the assessment, consideration is given among other things to whether the applicant has good pedagogical ability, including good ability to develop and lead pedagogical activities.
Particularly meritorious is good subject knowledge and teaching experience within a specific legal science subject, as well as experience in practical legal work relevant to the subject area.
Meritorious for the position is previous experience of teaching legal science at the university level.
Great importance is attached to the applicant having proven good collaboration skills.
When the university hires new teachers, the applicants should be chosen who, through a qualitative overall assessment, are judged to have the best prerequisites for carrying out and developing current tasks and contributing to a successful development of the operations.
