Do you want to make a real impact and create change? Here you contribute to creating security for people and societies. What you do matters.

Your Role

In the role of Systems Engineer specializing in Early Phases & Operational Analysis, you are responsible for system architecture and requirements definition throughout the development process of advanced missile systems. You act as the bridge between customer needs and technical implementation, with a special focus on how software integrates into the total system environment.

You will work broadly across several technical areas and have many contact points within the organization. To your aid are well-established processes and method descriptions in our internal databases.

Your main areas of responsibility:

  • System Architecture: Design and document scalable system solutions and software structures. You will lead the construction of a lab environment and drive work with model and algorithm libraries.
  • Requirements Management: Break down complex customer requirements into technical specifications and ensure full traceability between requirements, design, and verification.
  • Integration and Verification: Ensure that software works together with hardware and other subsystems throughout the entire lifecycle.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct system analyses, risk assessments (e.g., FMEA), and technical reviews, and ensure that systems comply with information security requirements and standards.
  • Lab Environment: Ensure we have the latest version of simulation models, rules of thumb, and be responsible for the interface between different simulation environments.

Your Profile

To thrive at Saab, you believe in a culture characterized by curiosity, trust, and teamwork. The role suits you if you have a strong technical foundation and several years of experience in systems work in technically complex and safety-critical environments. With an analytical approach, an eye for detail, and genuine technical curiosity, you are motivated by understanding complex solutions at the system level and defining requirements and functionality. You also thrive in a role with many contact points and close collaboration with both customers and development teams.

A university or civil engineering degree, for example in Technical Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering, forms the basis of your competence. We see that you have experience in Systems Engineering and/or system architecture. You have a deep technical understanding of embedded systems and experience in programming in languages such as C/C++, Java, and/or Python. You are accustomed to working with analysis and simulation tools such as MATLAB and have experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and tools such as SysML, Doors, and Enterprise Architect, as well as systems engineering methodology according to, for example, INCOSE. If you have experience from the Swedish Armed Forces or equivalent, it is an advantage.

Experience in algorithm development as well as product development within mechanics, electronics, and software is advantageous, as is familiarity with technical documentation in complex development projects. Our teams are versatile, and we believe that different perspectives and experiences contribute to creating even better solutions. Regardless of previous experience and work background, you are warmly welcome to help shape the technology of the future.

The position requires that you undergo and pass the security clearance checks according to current regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for specific citizenship.

Please note that we work with ongoing selection and the position may be filled before the final application date has passed. Due to the holiday period, feedback and the next steps in the recruitment process may take longer than usual. We process incoming applications continuously, but final feedback may not occur until the end of August. Thank you for your understanding and interest in the position.
