About our open position

The rehabilitation medicine section within the neurology, rehabilitation, and close care area at SÄS is tasked with providing specialized medical rehabilitation for patients with complex needs requiring interdisciplinary team interventions. The level of coordination is high, and goal-oriented interventions are developed jointly by the team, including the patient undergoing rehabilitation. As a Specialist Physician/Senior Consultant, you will play a central role in the care pathway for both inpatient and outpatient care and will be the main responsible person for the team. The role also includes supervision and teaching of specialty trainee physicians (ST-läkare) and other junior doctors.

Working hours are scheduled on weekdays during daytime. No on-call duties.

About us

The Rehabilitation Medicine Section at SÄS works with interdisciplinary team-based specialist rehabilitation for individuals who have suffered from stroke, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological diseases such as multiple sclerosis, multiple fractures after accidents, amputations, and more.

The section consists of an inpatient ward with ten beds, and we offer rehabilitation in a day-care format. We also have an outpatient clinic service including a spinal cord injury clinic, a spasticity clinic, and outpatient brain injury rehabilitation.

We are now looking for another Specialist Physician/Senior Consultant to strengthen and develop our rehabilitation medicine operations.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a Swedish medical license and specialist certification. Specialist training in rehabilitation medicine is an advantage. We also welcome applications from specialists in related fields, such as neurology or general practice, who have an interest in rehabilitation and wish to apply or contact us for further discussion. You must have a command of the Swedish language at level C1 or higher. Experience in rehabilitation medicine is an advantage.

As a person, you are flexible and thrive being the hub of the network. You easily maintain an overview and can prioritize based on conditions. An interest in development work is an advantage, as rehabilitation medicine at SÄS is constantly evolving. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and pay special attention to your interest in supervision and education, as well as your social competence and ability to collaborate.
