About Us

We are looking for a pediatric nurse or a registered nurse for a varied and developing role at the Children's Hospital!

At the Pediatric Neurological Assessment Clinic (NUMO), regional and highly specialized care is provided in interprofessional teams. The target group is children and young people aged 0-18 with congenital and acquired neurological disabilities. Occupational therapists, physiotherapists, special educators, psychologists, counselors, speech therapists, nurses, dietitians, assistant nurses, doctors, and administrative staff work here. Development and research are important parts of the operations.

Job Description

You will work with a multifaceted content that demands not only competence and experience but also flexibility and engagement. At the clinic, you will be part of a spasticity team caring for children and young people with complex needs. A central task is preventive work regarding procedure-related fear/pain, while other medical aspects include nitrous oxide treatment, sedation, and pain relief.

The work is both developing and exciting, involving a large part of independent work with coordination, planning, and many contacts with care partners, families, as well as preparations and participation in various treatment procedures.

The position includes weekend duty every fifth weekend at the Pediatric Medicine Ward, which is an inpatient ward at Queen Silvia Children's Hospital.

About You

We are looking for a registered nurse. Being a pediatric nurse or having extensive experience in pediatric care is advantageous.

Your personal qualities are significant to us, and you should find it easy to collaborate with children, parents, and colleagues. We also appreciate that you are solution-focused and enjoy tasks that vary between joy, playfulness, and seriousness.

The work requires sensitivity and patience to build trust with the patient and their guardians; good treatment is therefore paramount. Personal suitability is highly valued.

Foreign Qualification/Specialist Certificate

In the event of recruiting nurses/doctors with foreign qualifications/specialist certificates, the current position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish qualification/specialist certificate.

Clinical Base Year

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will participate in the Clinical Base Year, which is our induction program. The Clinical Base Year is mandatory and lasts during the first year of your employment with us. It includes lectures, nursing guidance, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. Additionally, it includes duty at least two different wards to broaden your competence.
