RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for an ArcGIS Platform Engineer who will take responsibility within a team for our ArcGIS platform. This role is vital to our statistical production and involves maintaining, further developing, and serving as the technical expert for a stable and secure Geographic Information System (GIS) platform used by the organization's GIS specialists.

You will act as the link between the IT platform and the users, who are experts in producing analyses and statistics in map form. Your focus will be on the platform's availability, performance, security, and lifecycle management so that users can focus on their analytical work.

If you want to work with the ArcGIS platform and its associated infrastructure, where you will:

• Maintain and further develop the ArcGIS Enterprise / ArcGIS Server platform
• Have overall responsibility and serve as the technical expert on ArcGIS
• Set up, configure, and optimize ArcGIS environments
• Be responsible for patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management of the platform
• Troubleshoot and handle incidents related to ArcGIS and its dependencies
• Monitor the platform's availability, performance, and capacity
• Work with databases linked to GIS solutions (preferably Microsoft SQL Server)
• Collaborate closely with GIS users and support them from a platform perspective
• Contribute to stability, security, and compliance with internal guidelines
• Participate in architecture and improvement work regarding GIS and the platform environment

QUALIFICATIONS

We want you to have:

• An academic degree with a focus on IT systems science, GIS, or equivalent education/work experience as assessed by the employer
• The ability to express yourself well in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
• At least one year of current practical experience with the ArcGIS platform in a production environment
• At least one year of current experience with installation, configuration, patching, and upgrading of platforms
• At least one year of current experience with troubleshooting and operation of server-based applications
• At least one year of current database knowledge, preferably Microsoft SQL Server
• Good understanding of how ArcGIS Server / ArcGIS Enterprise is structured
• Understanding of how GIS platforms interact with infrastructure, networks, and security
• Ability to work closely with users with high domain competence

It is also meritorious if you have:

• Experience with monitoring and performance optimization of ArcGIS environments
• Worked with geodatabases
• Experience with Windows Server environments
• Experience with scripting and automation using tools such as PowerShell or Python
• Worked in platform teams or central IT functions
• Experience working with high availability and redundancy within GIS platforms

This position is located in the IT/IOS/PL section in Örebro. Based on the organization's conditions, there is an opportunity to work from home for a certain amount of time.

The employment is permanent and usually begins with a six-month probationary period. The start date will be agreed upon.
