The position is located within the research group CIRCLE – Intervention Research in Health and Care. CIRCLE hosts the transdisciplinary, strategic research program U-CARE (http://www.ucare.uu.se (http://www.ucare.uu.se)). The overarching aims of U-CARE are to: increase mental well-being among those affected by illness by developing, testing, evaluating, and implementing evidence-based, individualized, and cost-effective behavioral interventions for health care; and to improve the efficiency, benefit, and value of clinical studies. Citizen participation is a central part of all research within CIRCLE and U-CARE. All research within CIRCLE and U-CARE is conducted within national and international collaborations, and our competence in research methodology has been highlighted in the most recent evaluations of research at Uppsala University.

Responsibilities

The person we are looking for will work with ongoing research projects as well as administration within the research groups CIRCLE and U-CARE. The research projects involve developing, testing, evaluating, and implementing complex interventions for patients and/or their relatives. Duties may include recruiting and communicating with research participants; collecting, managing, storing, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data; assisting researchers with grant applications and applications to the Swedish Ethical Review Authority; supporting the research group leader and researchers in organizing meetings and taking meeting minutes; supporting the research group leader with PhD course administration. The person will also work with patient and citizen participation, which is a central part of all activities within CIRCLE and U-CARE. The work may include other duties.

Qualifications

The person we are looking for must:

  • Hold an advanced degree (Master's level) in public health, global health, psychology, sociology, nursing science, or a related field.
  • Be fluent in speaking and writing Swedish.
  • Have excellent proficiency in speaking and writing English.
  • Demonstrate strong initiative and problem-solving skills, ability to deliver according to agreed goals and timelines, prioritize tasks, and be meticulous.
  • Demonstrate strong ability to work professionally both independently and in a team within a collaborative environment, and to communicate with colleagues from different disciplines and professions.
  • Show a strong interest in transdisciplinary research and motivation to be an active member of a successful research group.
  • Have good knowledge of and previous experience working with both qualitative and quantitative research methods, as well as software such as NVivo, R, SPSS, Stata, and MS Office.

Desirable/Additional Merits

The following are considered merits:

  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data, and writing successful grant applications to funders and approved applications to the Swedish Ethical Review Authority.
  • Experience in writing scientific publications.
  • Interest in continuously contributing to the development of activities within CIRCLE and U-CARE.
  • Interest in continuously contributing to the good working environment within CIRCLE and U-CARE.
  • Knowledge of and experience in working with patient and citizen participation in research.

About the Position

The position is fixed-term for 12 months. Full-time. Start date: 2026-10-01 or by agreement. Location: Uppsala.
