The Workplace

The Social Infrastructure Administration has a broad-ranging operation that includes the units for streets/parks, water and sewage, planning and building, property, catering, as well as facility maintenance and associated administrative services.

The catering unit operates nine kitchens within various municipal operations where food is prepared and served to children, students, residents, and other customers. The current position as a cook is located at Carl Johansson School's kitchen, which is responsible for preparing and serving meals for the secondary school, as well as preparing food for two preschools. This entails a total production of approximately 300 portions per day.

Responsibilities

As a cook at Carl Johansson School, you will make a difference every day by creating good meals that provide energy and joy in eating. You will plan and prepare daily meals, including special dietary and diet food, with a focus on quality, sustainability, and food safety.

The role is varied and includes everything from production planning, food handling, and serving to the receipt and delivery of goods. You interact daily with students and educators, making service and a welcoming attitude a natural part of the job. You are also involved in developing the operations and contributing ideas that make our meals and working methods even better.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a culinary education from upper secondary school or equivalent education/experience. We prefer that you have documented professional experience. You need to have knowledge of diet cooking, be familiar with common digital technology, and have worked with HACCP and be well-versed in this working method. You should also be accustomed to taking personal responsibility and working in a team.

You should have a strong interest in food and cooking, good collaboration skills, be service-oriented, and have a flexible mindset. You find it stimulating and interesting to work in an organization undergoing continuous change.

You need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both in speech, writing, and comprehension, to be able to work according to our kitchen instructions and HACCP plans, as well as to maintain dialogue with our customers.
