About the Role and Workplace

In Tomelilla Municipality, full-time work is the norm, which means among other things that all new hires are employed full-time. We create the conditions to enable full-time work, which leads to having many colleagues and greater opportunities for competence development. The placement will primarily be at Brinkehem, but resource shifts at other units within the elderly care services in Tomelilla Municipality may occur.

Brinkehem is a special housing facility located in Brösarp, consisting of three departments with a total of 22 apartments. The Ljungen department is the largest, with a general orientation comprising ten apartments in total, two of which are adapted for couples. The Heden department consists of seven one-room apartments, and Ängslyckan has five apartments intended for people with cognitive illnesses.

Responsibilities

As a care assistant with us, you are part of people's daily lives and work to support residents in living as independent a life as possible. Your work is characterized by great variety, including providing practical support with personal care. You may be delegated tasks by nurses to administer medication. The role also involves adding a golden touch to the residents' lives.

Your duties include, among other things, providing practical support in personal care and hygiene, housekeeping, or support in social contexts, such as:

• Showering, personal hygiene, and shaving
• Toilet visits
• Assistance with getting up and going to bed, as well as dressing and undressing
• Cleaning, laundry, and shopping
• Accompanying to, for example, health centers or outdoor activities

Qualifications and Merits

To thrive in this role, it is important that you have a genuine interest in people who need care and support. You must have the ability to see the individual's need for both care and support, aiming for independence. It is also important that you are flexible as a person and have a good manner of dealing with others. The work requires that you can take initiative and have good collaboration skills. In the job, it is required that you are engaged and proactive in the continuous improvement work to increase quality at both the individual and operational levels.

To be considered for the position, you must have education as a care assistant (undersköterska).

You need to master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with residents, relatives, and colleagues in speech and writing, as well as document.

We consider it a merit if you have previous experience from care and elderly services work.
